Luxembourg

Once again I don't quite know how to get Blogger to arrange my photos the way I want, but here are some pictures from our trip to Luxembourg yesterday. We actually crossed the border into Belgium for a few minutes too, just because we could. We saw Luxembourg City, the American Military Cemetary at Ardennes, and the Valley of the Seven Castles. But I'll leave the rest of the details for Oma to tell everyone. :-)

YES, unbelievable. Amazing. Three levels of fortifications. What remains is the 10% left after Luxembourg was offered freedom in exchange for dismantling their fortresses. They did it, and have been left in peace ever since.
Most amazing, they have remained grateful to the US for liberating them during WW2. There are still fresh flowers on General Patton's grave... he is buried in the US cemetery with over 5,000 Americans who died here.
Sobering stuff.
